Wantable Accessories Box January 2014 Review

My January Wantable Accessories box arrived a few days ago.  I hadn't been too thrilled with December's box, but after I revised my style profile, I was looking forward to seeing what was in this one.  Here it is:

I love the label on top :-)

The first item I saw was the Lavi necklace, which consisted of clear, faceted, sparkly stones on a gold tone chain.  According to the information sheet, this retails for $32.

This probably isn't something I would buy if I saw it in the store, but it is cute (and sparkly, which is always good!), and I can imagine it looking nice if paired with the right outfit.  I don't know how often I would have occasion to wear it, though.  I was hoping for a smaller, more everyday necklace.  I'll have to update my preferences again.

The next piece was a bit of a disappointment.  Remember December's box, when I got that ring that didn't fit?  Well, I got the EXACT ring again!  It was the Michelle ring, a silver tone mesh ring retailing for $22. And again, I like the style, but sadly the ring is just too tight.

It looked the same when I put it on as it did in December.

I'm not sure if Wantable will replace an item if you get the same thing twice.  Maybe I should contact them and find out.

Anyway, the third item was the Ribbon and Lace Ebony headband.  This was very cute, and definitely useful since my hair is always falling into my face.  According to the information sheet, the retail price for this is $24.

I put this on, and I liked the way it looked.  After a few minutes, it was starting to slide off, though, so I will have to use bobby pins to hold it in place.

So overall, I liked this box better than the last one, but I'm still not exactly amazed by it.  I decided to update my style profile to say that I only like "minimal" style necklaces. I'm hoping that will get me something I can wear on a regular basis.  And I hope that next month I don't get another duplicate item!

I'm still optimistic that I can get a great box if I tweak my preferences enough, so we'll see what happens in February.  Did you get a Wantable box this month?  What do you think of it?

  1. Thanks Dev. So helpful. I think I read somewhere that you could send back one or more of the items for a partial refund. Do you know if that's true or not? Maybe you can get a refund for the duplicate ring at least?

  2. Thanks for your comment! Yes, you can send back items for partial refunds, but as I understand it, they will refund you the cost of the box minus the retail value of the items you are keeping. So if I kept the necklace and headband, they would add up to more than the cost of the box ($36), so I wouldn't get any money back. I might be able to give the ring away as a gift, though, so it's not too bad :-)
