Allure Beauty Box: Summer Must Haves Review

My Allure Beauty Box arrived last week, but I didn't have a chance to review it until now.   I was actually very surprised that I was able to purchase a box at all, since the website was experiencing server problems on the day of the sale, and the page wasn't loading properly for me.  But I kept refreshing the page, and my persistence paid off!  Allure Beauty boxes go on sale every season.  This is the first one that I have purchased, but I definitely intend to try to buy them whenever they become available.  This box cost $44.95 plus shipping, and it is packed full of around $350 worth of products!  Here's what I got:

There are so many products here that I am going to just list them alphabetically, which is how they appeared in the enclosed information booklet.

Aloxxi Flexible Hairspray:  This hairspray is supposed to be anti-humidity and protects hair from UV damage while providing flexible hold and a light shine.  I don't use a lot of hairspray, but this one seems like it would work well for me.

Big Sexy Hair Get Layered Flash Dry Thickening Hairspray:  My hair is thin and has long layers, so I think this product will be great for me.  I am hoping it will give me some more volume.

Burt's Bees Even-Tone Moisturizing Cream:  I am very excited about this product.  I have been looking for a new moisturizer, and if it will even out my skin tone, so much the better!

Cargo Cosmetics Essential Lip Gloss:  This is a shiny, sheer pink that is a nice change from my usual reds.  It will be great for the spring and summer.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths:  I am a big fan of Cetaphil products, and I use cleansing cloths often.  I am always happy to have more so it will be longer before I have to buy them!

Developlus Anti-Aging Hair Treatment Serum:  This is supposed to give you "youthful" hair in two weeks.  I'm not entirely sure what that means, and I never noticed that my hair was aging, so maybe I'll give this to my mom.

Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash:  Between this box and Popsugar, I'm not going to have to buy body wash for quite a while!  I like the scent of this, and I always need products that will moisturize my skin.

Flower Nail'd It Nail Lacquer:  I haven't tried this out yet, but it is a pretty color that will be perfect for the summer.

GK Hair ThermalStyleHer:  I blow dry my hair daily, and I sometimes use other styling tools, so a heat protectant is definitely needed!  I am going to start using this in the mornings before work.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin but Better CC Cream with SPF 50+:  I was really looking forward to this CC cream.  The shade is maybe just slightly on the light side for my skin tone, but if I blend it in well, I think it works.  I am excited to start using this to see if it will help improve the texture of my skin.

Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick:  This is a sheer, shiny color that also moisturizes your lips.  I am putting this straight into my purse.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face + Body Stick Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 70:  I've never seen a sunscreen stick before, but I think it's a good idea.  This is water resistant and will come in handy at the beach.

Not Your Mother's Intensive Hair Unit Renewal Treatment:  This is a deep-conditioning treatment that is supposed to be used once a week.  My hair is in surprisingly good shape, considering all the heat I expose it to, but I should try to take better care of it, and this will be a step in the right direction!

One 'N Only Argan Oil Cream-to-Serum Styler:  This is supposed to reduce frizz and provide thermal protection.  I'm not sure it's quite right for my hair, but I can think of friends and family members who would be able to use it.

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Heat Protect Spray:  This is supposed to protect hair against heat from styling tools.  I am trying to style my hair more often, so this product will come in handy!

Pureology Fresh Approach Dry Condition:  This is meant to restore softness and shine while eliminating frizziness and static throughout the day.  I don't have frizzy hair, so I will pass this along to a friend.

Redken Mess Around 10 Disrupting Cream-Paste:  There was a time when I had short hair, and I used products like this.  Now that my hair is long, I don't think this will work with it, so I will have to give it away.  Or I can keep it for the next time I decide to cut my hair short!

Rembrandt Deeply White Toothpaste:  Who doesn't need more toothpaste?  I'm also happy to try out a whitening toothpaste after years of coffee drinking.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara:  This is supposed to make lashes fuller, which is something I need.  I already have a lot of mascara, but I will have to try this one out soon.

Rusk Freezing Spray:  I don't often need an "extreme hold" hairspray, but this could come in handy if I am doing an updo for a special occasion.

Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Color and Top Coat:  I don't think I'm going to need to buy blue nail polish anytime soon!  I do like this shade of blue, as well as the glitter.  I also recently ran out of top coat, so this one is great to have.

Softsoap Sea Kissed Exfoliating Body Wash:  I like the scent of this body wash, and I am glad that it exfoliates.  I will use this...after I have used up all the other body wash I have!

Tan Towel Classic Self-Tan Towelettes for Fair to Medium Skin Tones:  This is the one item in the box that I have absolutely no use for.  I am already "tan."  I tend to avoid tanning in the sun, and I definitely would never use self-tanner.  I will be passing these along to someone else who can use them.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara:  I've never used Tarte mascara, so I am curious about this.  It is supposed to deliver a 330% increase in lash volume.  I like the sound of that!

I am very happy that I was able to purchase one of these boxes.  Even though I won't use every product, the value of the ones I will use is far more than the cost of the box, and I can easily give away the items that I don't want.  I think the next Allure Beauty Box is supposed to go on sale around August, so I will definitely be trying to buy another one then!

Did you get an Allure Beauty Box, or have you purchased any in the past?  Which products do you like the best?
