Birchbox: July 2014 Review

This month, Birchbox partnered with Women's Health Magazine, and the theme of the box was "Power Up."  The samples included were meant to energize your daily routine.  Here's what was in my box:

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer:  I've had trouble finding a primer I really like that helps maintain a matte finish.  This primer is supposed to do just that, as well as minimizing pores.  I'm excited to try it out.

LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in Menatour (Purple):  I really wish I had gotten this in a different color.  I love the way this feels on my lips, it has a minty scent, and it gives the perfect amount of color.  However, the color I got happens to be purple.  I was hoping it would look more pink when I put it on, but no.  It is definitely purple.  I wish I could, but I don't think I can pull off that color on my lips.  I would love to try this product out in a different color, though.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect:  This is a leave-in conditioner that strengthens and nourishes hair.  I already have a lot of similar products, so I might pass this along to my sister, who has been looking for a leave-in conditioner.

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel:  This is supposed to brighten and smooth skin in three minutes.  Sounds good to me!  I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

Ruffian The Rapture Collection Nail Polish in Rosary:  I got to choose the color of this polish before receiving the box, which I thought was a nice feature this month.  I love this rose gold color, and I don't have any other polish like it.  I tried it on one of my nails, and it goes on very smoothly.

Bonus:  Ruffian Nail Polish Remover Towelette:  This is acetone-free and will come in handy in a travel bag.

I really liked my box this month.  Other than the lip pencil color, I liked all of the items, and I thought it was a great value overall.

  1. The Sheer Lip Lube Pencil looks amazing (maybe in a different colour) - I can't wait to try them out! I also really like your reviews, they're so entertaining to read. Do you have one of Vain Pursuits? I’ve started to hear a lot about them and I would love to hear what you have to say :)

    1. Thanks for your comment! I may have to get that lip pencil in a different color as well. I haven't tried Vain Pursuits yet, but it does look interesting, so possibly in the next couple of months!
