After Christmas Shopping: Gilt Groupe

I signed up for Gilt Groupe a while back, and every once in a while I check out the site, but I had never bought anything from them.  Although a lot of the items on the site are out of my price range, they do have some good deals.  I noticed a sale on jewelry last week, and of course I had to check it out!  I have been looking for jewelry that I can wear to work and for weekend outings:  not too casual, but not too big and sparkly either.   On GiltI found some great pieces that fit the bill for really reasonable prices.  I placed my order on January 5th, it shipped on the 7th, and it arrived yesterday.

The first piece I got was the lapis pave bar ring by Melanie Auld.  I love the color of this, and the shape is different from the other rings I have.  The pave border gives it just enough sparkle.  It is (as the name says) a lapis stone and is 18K gold plated.

I paid $35 for this ring on Gilt.  I looked at the Melanie Auld website and found this ring on sale for $51, with a regular price of $73.  I really like this ring, as well as the others I saw on the Melanie Auld website, so I'll be keeping an eye on that site from now on!

Next was the Safety Pin Stack Cuff Bracelet by House of Harlow 1960.  This bracelet is adorable.  I know it's probably meant to be stacked with other bracelets, but I like wearing it by itself too.  I'm actually wearing it right now as I type this, along with the above ring!  It doesn't show up too well in the picture, but this is rose gold.  Somehow I didn't have any rose gold jewelry until now, even though I really like that color.  I think the safety pin design is so cute, and I'm sure I'll be wearing this a lot.  I paid $29 for this.  I saw it on Amazon for $46.99, and it said the list price was $58, which seems about right.

Finally, I got the Kenneth Jay Lane Gold Star Cuff.  This is somewhat more flashy than what I had originally intended to buy, but I've actually had my eye on this bracelet for quite some time, and it always cost more than I could justify paying for it.  But I saw it on Gilt for $59 and didn't think I'd find a better price anywhere else.  I will definitely wear this, and I'm really happy about it!

I didn't realize there was a hinge on the side, but it does make it easier to put on.

So that was my little post-Christmas gift to myself!  I think I did pretty well and got some great deals on Gilt.  Like I said earlier, I can't shop there too often, but it's definitely worth it when I can!  Are you a Gilt Groupe member?  It's free to join, and they have some great deals.  I think checking out their site is also a good way to find items from a lot of different designers that you might not otherwise know about.  If you are interested, click here.  Happy shopping!
