Cuisine Cube: April 2014 Review

Cuisine Cube is a monthly subscription service that ships a box of gluten-free goodies.  I really enjoyed last month's box, so I was looking forward to this one.  It arrived two days ago, and since I was very hungry when I came home from work, I was even happier to get it.  Here's what I got:

Dolci di Maria Chocolate Chocolate Chip Biscotti:  Gluten-free biscotti?  Sounds good to me!  I had intended to have one of these with my morning coffee today, but I ended up having pancakes instead (made with the mix from last month's box--they were great).  So I'll try one with my next cup of coffee, either today or tomorrow.

Pretzel Perfection Garlic Herb Twice Baked Pretzels:  This also looks great.  I was never a huge pretzel eater, even when I was able to eat gluten, but it's funny how you miss things when you can't have them anymore.  I am looking forward to trying these.

Quinn Hickory Smoked Cheddar Microwaveable Popcorn Packs:  This popcorn comes with separate flavor packets, which they say allows them to keep the ingredients fresh.  Popcorn is inherently gluten-free, so it's not the most exciting thing to get in a box like this, but I'm sure it will taste great.  The bf and I are going to have a movie night tonight, so this will be perfect!

Mediterranean Sensations Lemon & Garlic Rice Pilaf:  I am going to cook this for dinner either tonight or tomorrow.  I love lemon and garlic, so I'm sure this will be great.  Again, rice is gluten-free already (although flavorings and seasonings may not be), but I've never seen this product in the store, so I'm glad I got it in the box.

Flour Buds Bakery Cornbread:  As I mentioned, I was really hungry when I got this box.  This corn muffin was calling to me, so I ate it as soon as I unpacked the box!  It was perfect; it was moist and flavorful, and I would have never known it was gluten-free.  I am going to have to track down this company and buy some more of their products.

Goodie Girl Tribeca Crunchy Chaos and Quinoa Chocolate Chip Cookies:  I ate one pack of these cookies right after receiving the box, and I ate the other one yesterday.  Both of them were fresh and tasted homemade.  They were crispy, and although I generally prefer my cookies to be soft, I really enjoyed them and couldn't tell that they were gluten-free.  Next time I'm in NYC, I'll have to check them out.

This was a great Cuisine Cube box.  At first, I was thinking that I would have preferred to have gotten more "meal" items, but really, who am I kidding?  I love snacks and am always so happy to find gluten-free baked goods that have a taste and texture comparable to products made with gluten.  These definitely fit the bill.  I am already looking forward to my next box!

Cuisine Cube is $29.99 a month with free shipping.  If you are interested in subscribing, click here!
